Abstract:
Architectural advances have pushed general-purpose processors into
devices.
These ``intelligent'' devices provide great opportunity for mitigating
the I/O bottleneck.
This paper presents principles that an intelligent device programming
model should adhere to in order to achieve the full potential of these
emerging devices.
It also presents a prototype implementation of an intelligent device
programming model.
