How To Apply
Read this page carefully and prepare all application materials before you
begin the application process. Electronic submission is preferred, but
regular mail is also accepted if desired (see submission address on the bottom
of the page).
A complete application includes the following steps:
- Complete and submit an application form. The questions marked with * are required. For answering the "Project Choice" questions on the form, please refer to the project codes provided on
the REU Projects website.
- Submit a copy (official or unofficial) of your college transcript(s). Upload a copy of your transcripts with the application form
(supported file types: .doc, .pdf, .ps) or email the transcript(s) to the submission email provided below.
- Submit a one-page research statement (include description of any major
projects, internships, courses, previous REU participation,
etc. and describe your career objectives). Again, you can
upload your statement on the application form or submit it via email.
- Arrange for letter of recommendations from two college
professors to be sent directly to the REU program coordinator (both
email or regular mail submissions are accepted).
All material must be received by
5PM, Friday, March 14, 2008.
Electronic submission is preferred, but regular mail submissions are also
possible (see address below).
All applicants will be notified of their status no later than April 4,

Submission Options:
- Online: You can submit the application form, transcripts,
and your one-page statement via the online application form.
- Email: You can send all documents (including recommendation letters) via email to darts@cse.nd.edu.
- Regular mail: You can send hardcopies of all documents (including recommendation letters) via regular mail to:
