How To Apply
Read this page carefully and prepare all application materials before you
begin the application process. Electronic submission is preferred, but
regular mail is also accepted if desired (see submission address on the bottom
of the page).
A complete application includes the following steps:
- Complete and submit an application form. The questions marked with * are required. For answering the "Area of Interest" questions on the form, please refer to the project codes provided on
the REU Projects website.
- Send an email containing a copy of each of the following documents
in .pdf, .ps, or .doc format to erwin.reu@gmail.com:
- Resume
- Research statement (one page; include descriptions of any prior major projects, internships, courses, REU program, etc.; also include your research interests and career objectives)
- College transcript(s), official or unofficial
- Arrange for one letter of recommendation from a college
professors to be sent directly to the REU program coordinator (both
email or regular mail submissions are accepted).
Please put your name and "REU 2012 forms" into the subject line of your
emails (e.g.: John Smith REU 2012 forms).
All material must be received by
5PM, Friday, March 9, 2012.
Electronic submission is preferred, but regular mail submissions are also
possible (see address below). Decisions will be made shortly thereafter
and students have approximately one week to accept or decline an offer.
All applicants will be notified of their status no later than March 23,
