Getting Started with Datalab

It's easy to jump in and start working with Datalab. Just log on to an AFS machine somewhere on campus, and type the following to grab the latest copy of the client:

cp ~ccl/work/datalab/bin/datalab .

You now have a local copy of the datalab client. You may want to grab a fresh copy from time to time in case updates have been made to the executable.

Now all you need to do is start up the client by typing ./datalab and you're ready to go. The client should find the Datalab central database and tell you how many ASUs you have currently available.

Type help or read the Datlab User's Manual for more on how to work in this environment!
