Professor Izaguirre Receives R01 Funding from NIH

3/29/2012:

Dr. Jesus Izaguirre has received a grant from NIH for GPU-enabled protein folding simulations. This project is focused on novel algorithms that dramatically accelerate the simulation of protein folding. These algorithms will be used to investigate the effect of mutations on misfolding, a critical aspect of many neurodegenerative diseases. This research involves collaboration with Dr. Christopher Sweet at the Center for Research Computing at the University of Notre Dame, Professor Vijay Pande at Stanford University, and Professor Martin Gruebele at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
