The pinball project is worth 40% of your course grade: Phase 1: 12% Phase 2: 28% The Phase 1 grading has 12 points. - Nine points are for overall team contributions in the form of code. Everyone gets all of these points. - Two points are for the reflection document that you must write and email to me. See below. - One point is for the team report that you must write and mail to me. See below. ----- REFLECTION DOCUMENT INFORMATION ----- Reflection document: By OCTOBER 15, 2004 at 5:00pm EST (Indiana time), you must email me a text file (plain ASCII or Word or PDF are OK) that is organized as follows. The Subject of youremail must be "Phase 1 reflection: NAME", where NAME is your name. This is an individual document (one per student) and you should not write it with your team or share it with them. I expect you to do more than provide one-line answers to questions 3-7. I expect that this document will take you 15-30 minutes to complete and be more than one page long, if you take it seriously. 1. Name of student 2. Name of Team 3. Describe your role(s) in the team. Examples: participant in discussions, coder, tester, interface with Alpha (for integration). Be specific about what you did. This should take several sentences. 4. What percent of the team's effort and accomplishment was due solely to your work? In your opinion, was your work essential to the success of your team? 5. In retrospect, did you work harder, as hard, or not as hard as you expected on the project? If you worked harder or less hard than you expected, why? 6. Are you proud of YOUR work on the team? 7. Are you proud of your TEAM's work? 8. Did your team have major problems with differing levels of effort from different members? If so, and without naming names, please describe the situation. ----- TEAM REPORT INFORMATION ----- By October 15, 2004 at 5:00pm EST (Indiana time), your team must email a plain text file containing the team report as specified below. The subject of the email must be "Phase 1 team report: TEAMNAME". Everyone on the team must see and comment on the report prior to its submission. If a team member fails to provide meaningful input to the report by the deadline, a statement about this must be inserted in the report. I expect that this document will take 15-30 minutes to write and be about 1 full page in length, not including your source code. 1. Team name 2. Team members (note any names of members who failed to contribute to the report) 3. Description of your assignment. 4. Summarize team meetings and email conversations. How many meetings? How many email messages were exchanged among team members? 5. Describe the team division of labor. Who took the lead on design? Who participated in the design? Who wrote code? Who worked on integration with other code? 6. If you had real difficulties with this phase of the project, describe them individually. It is fine to be critical of the project specification provided by the professor, if it prevented you from getting started; but in that case, describe your attempts to get clarification from the prof.
